Message from Incoming LATCH Chairperson
Ladies of vision and hope founded our Filipino Travelers of Charleston Ladies Auxiliary (LATCH). They had ideas to implement. They wanted caring-minded people, like their friends and families, to join them in support of the charitable goals and social activities of the Filipino Travelers of Charleston. LATCH has been working together for thirty years putting their shoulders to the wheel. These dedicated members attend monthly meetings, charitable events, and social functions to make each and every experience successful. My predecessor, Sis Ofel Acala and her officers did an outstanding job. I know I am going to find it very difficult to improve on perfection. It is a very hard act to follow.

Our Filipino Travelers of Charleston Ladies Auxiliary is what we make it, no more and no less. If we are successful, it is we who make it so. It is that Filipino spirit and the Filipino promise which pushes us forward even when the path is uncertain, and it binds us together despite our differences. My goal is to help LATCH become synonymous with friendship, achievement and success. Please join me in making this happen..
Thank you,
Sis Nene Camus

Message from Incoming President
On that beautiful Picnic Day, June 26, 2010, Worshipful Brother Johnny Aldea cast a unanimous vote of confidence in my favor to lead the Filipino Travelers of Charleston (FTC) for 2010 - 2012. It was absolutely a remarkable honor and privilege. I was deeply touched by the event which I felt was a defining moment of my life.
I have seen, observed, and worked with the “pack” for three decades. The extra-ordinary test of leadership, innovation, expertise, and courage of our past leaders to keep the FTC focused on numerous charities and worthy goals for thirty (30) years is evident. As your President, I would like to see that our Filipino Travelers of Charleston expand its horizons. To do so, we may have to throw out some old ideas and embrace new ones. After all, we live in a changing world. But what we never throw or let go of though is our Filipino culture, pride in our heritage, and masonic beliefs. I will keep the traditions while reaching out to every member and their ladies for solutions, compromise, and understanding with grace. I promise that I will do my utmost to see that our Filipino Travelers of Charleston will continue to be an important part of our lives. Criticism is easy, but the work that has to be done is not, I am confident that I have the full support of every brethren and their ladies to keep the torch burning.
I would like to welcome our guest speaker, Right Worshipful Brother David Dechant and his lovely lady, Bellie, our honored guests this evening, out of state Brethren, leaders and members of our local organizations, family, guests, and our very own members of the Filipino Travelers of Charleston, who have taken the time to spend the evening here with us tonight. Thank you for attending and celebrating our 30th Anniversary and Induction Ball. Please enjoy yourselves and have a wonderful evening. I look forward for many more.
Thank you and God bless,
Bro. D. James Camus
